Rapport

Rapport is crucial for business. It allows you to develop good relationships quickly - a particularly important skill in China. Relationships may be built up over months or even years, but what if you do not have months or years? Is it possible to build a relationship more quickly?

Indeed it is. If you doubt this, consider your current close friends. No doubt you have some friends with whom a deep connection developed very quickly. On the other hand, you may have some colleagues with whom you talk every day but do not become close. What accounts for this difference? How can you consistently develop strong relationships quickly?

Rapport is a sense that you share a connection with another person. Research has shown that rapport depends on body language, tone and pace of speech and other factors in predictable ways. In our training, we will practice developing rapport with each other. When this becomes natural, you will find yourself quickly developing deep relationships with others.
